Meet the Minister
Bro. Harvey Drummer, Jr. is a native of Coldwater, Mississippi. He was baptized into Christ at the Central Avenue Church of Christ in Mississippi when he was fifteen. He began preaching the gospel at the age of twenty one. Thereafter, he enrolled as a student at Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, Texas.
His academic credentials include Southwestern Christian College, (Terrell, Texas) – Associate of Arts degree in Religious Education and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Bible. Master of Arts Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University. Currently he is also a Licensed Insurance Agent.
Bro. Drummer is a proud father of Harvey III (26), Marilyn (24), Miriam (23), and Joshua (21).
Bro. Drummer has been preaching the gospel for over thirty years and his experiences are numerous. He started his ministry at a small church in Mississippi and realized his need to further his education. After attaining his Bachelor’s degree from Southwestern Christian College he was offered and accepted an internship and was later retained as the Assistant Minister at the Swope Parkway Church of Christ in historic Kansas City, Missouri. He was offered and accepted the position as Minister of the Eastside Church of Christ in Topeka Kansas. He served there for six years. He served as the Minister of Grace Street Church of Christ in Crockett, TX and at the D’Antignac Street Church of Christ in Augusta, GA.
Bro. Drummer made history as the first African American minister of Crowder Blvd Church of Christ in New Orleans, LA. He was the minister at North 32nd Street Church of Christ in Baton Rouge, LA for three years. Throughout his travels he has brought hundreds of souls to Christ. Unparalleled growth has taken place at every congregation he has ministered. He was the minister of Carver Rd. Church of Christ in Winston Salem, NC for three years where over 100 souls were baptized into Christ in one year. He served as Minister of Westmoreland Dr. Church of Christ in Orlando, FL for fourteen years. He currently serves as the Minister of Lake Nona Church of Christ.
Bro. Drummer is known for his published, enlightening and outstanding evangelistic tool called “The Adam Lesson”. This tool has brought hundreds of souls to Christ with its “easy to understand” concept of Christ and the church as compared to the first man Adam and the second man Adam, Christ. “So also it is written, “The first man, Adam became a living soul”. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit” (1Cor. 15:45). He has mentored many to become preachers of the gospel.
He has preached gospel meetings all of the country; including New York, Indiana, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri and Florida.
Bro. Drummer served on the board of QEI Charter School in Winston Salem, NC. He has preached on Bright House cable television, he has preached and taught on the radio in many states. He is well read and well versed in the Bible. Bro. Drummer has spoken on a series of national, regional and local lectureships, college lectureships, youth conferences, marriage, singles and evangelism seminars.

Children remind us to live more, trust more, laugh more, and seek the love of our Heavenly Father more. These wonderful little ones are beautiful, full of happiness, and are a radiant bright light in this world of darkness. No matter where you are in the world, or what your background is, children are a gift from God. Our future generations. God calls us His children, because the love of a child is so precious and fragile, that we should protect it and defend it.
